The Spanish Super Cup opens the trophy calendar of the Spanish football season, and the 2027 edition is staged in Istanbul between 2 and 7 February 2027 at Atatürk Olympic Stadium. Recent editions have been played away from Spain, and the Istanbul edition brings the competition to one of the largest grounds in Europe.

The Spanish Super Cup is a short knockout competition rather than a league: four clubs qualify through the previous season's domestic league and cup, two semi-finals open the tournament, and the winners meet in the final. With only three fixtures on the calendar, every match is an elimination match and there is no group stage to recover in.

All matches of the 2027 edition are played at Atatürk Olympic Stadium, an open-air ground in the Başakşehir district on the European side of Istanbul. Opened in 2002, it is the largest stadium in Türkiye and has hosted two UEFA Champions League finals, in 2005 and in 2023.
